Calm, connected parenting, even when family life feels overwhelming

This is for you if…

A simpler, steadier path starts with recognising the pressure your family is under.

You’re doing your best, but much of the time parenting life feels like it’s become unmanageable
You feel overwhelmed, exhausted, or stuck
Your child’s behaviour feels intense, confusing, or hard to manage
You feel like you’ve lost your sense of joy in family life
You’ve tried typical parenting advice and it hasn’t helped
You feel like you’re walking on eggshells at home
You find yourself reacting in ways you didn’t expect
You want a more connected relationship with your child

Maybe you’re facing additional challenges, such as trauma, family changes, neurodiversity, child or parental health issues, or your own stress and overwhelm.

You’re not failing. You’re parenting in complex circumstances and you deserve support that understands the landscape of your experience.

How I can help

Practical support that stays anchored in connection, regulation, and everyday family life.

I help parents move from stress, disconnection and loss of control to confident, connected parenting.

Together, we can focus on:

  • Understanding your child’s behaviour in a deeper way
  • Supporting emotional regulation, for both you and your child
  • Strengthening connection while holding clear, consistent boundaries
  • Helping you feel more confident, grounded, and in control
  • Helping you build and use your support network, so you and your child aren’t doing this alone

This isn’t about “perfect parenting”—there is no such thing. It’s about finding what works for your family.

Support that helps you feel calmer, clearer, and less alone.

The goal is not perfect parenting. It is building a steadier relationship with your child and more confidence in how you respond when things feel hard.

I’m Angela, a Connective Parenting Specialist with over 20 years’ experience supporting children and families.

I work with parents who are navigating additional challenges: whether that’s big emotions, complex behaviour, or simply feeling overwhelmed and unsure what to do next.

My approach is warm, practical, and grounded in real life. I’m here to help you feel more confident, more connected, and more in control of your parenting. I’m also here to help you get the joy back into the relationship with your child.

Something that makes my work different is that I don’t just support parents. Alongside my connective parenting work, I am also a certified Therapeutic Life Story Worker. Within this role I continue to work directly with children and young people who have complex histories, helping them to make sense of their lived experiences and develop healthy identities.

The children and young people I work with are my greatest teachers.

This means I bring a deep understanding of:

  • How children think and experience the world
  • What behaviour is really communicating
  • How to bridge the gap between parent and child

This work is often commissioned through children’s services, allowing me to stay closely connected to the real, complex experiences children and families face.

The Ascend Approach

A relationship-based framework that keeps compassion and clear boundaries together.

My work is grounded in a connective, relationship-based approach to parenting.

At its core:

Connection comes first

Children thrive when they feel safe, accepted, and connected.

Regulation before reaction

We focus on building awareness of our own parental state so we can be present and steady, even in challenging moments.

Strong, compassionate boundaries

You can be both nurturing and hold strong, clear boundaries. You don’t have to choose.

Supporting you as a parent

Your wellbeing, self-awareness, and regulation are important and you deserve to feel cared for.

This approach draws on evidence-based models including:

  • Attachment theory
  • DDP
  • PACE
  • NVR
  • Nervous system regulation

Our work is always tailored to your real life, with you as the expert of your children and what works for your family.

Change becomes more possible when everyone feels safer, steadier, and better understood.

This approach stays practical. It helps you make sense of what is happening, respond with more clarity, and protect the relationship while holding the boundaries your family needs.

Final Word

A simpler closing section with a clear invitation to connect or stay informed.

Parenting is hard. And when you’re facing additional challenges, it can feel overwhelming and isolating.

But change is possible. With the right support, you can feel more connected, confident, and calm.

You don’t have to figure it out on your own. Let’s connect and take that climb together.
